So my old reeflo needs to be replaced ASAP, the seal is starting to let the water get through it and the pump is just really old and has a lot of miles on it. I have brand new reeflo trident that I plan to plumb in tomorrow. I am looking for any tips/advice from someone who is using them or has used them in the past. It has those 1.5 inch slip fittings and I'd like to install a ball valve on each side. Would 1" valve be a good fit? What else should I think about or consider before going to the hardware store in the morning?

I believe craigar has a barracuda up for 175. Not sure if it will work for you but might be an option.

Try not to reduce the intake of the pump as much as you can but the outlet can be reduced. We always put a true union ball valve on either side of the pump for easy removal of the pump for servicing.
