Just about ready to drill for my closed loop, and was testing flow through a 3/4 squid.
Have about 5 different pumps ranging from 500gph to 1200gph so was planning a 500gph return pump and 1200gph running through my scwd to two closed loop returns.
In the effort to save drilling more holes in the glass I was wondering if just using the mag12 as my return plumbed to my scwd and two return lines would give the same benefit as a closed loop.
Would this be too much flow through my sump? Its a 30g 36in acrylic tank converted to a standard sump. Standard baffles for water lines in skimmer section, chaeto/rubble compartment, and return pump.
Main concern with the closed loop is that I would have 2 holes for loop return, one for the intake, and one more for the return from the sump. The intake for the mag12 would be a freaking vacuum and the thought of livestock getting sucked against the vent is a bit scary. Second concern is I would have a total of 7 holes drilled, would this be too stressful on the glass?
Any help would be appreciated pic is below, its ghetto paint. But needed something besides my sketches in the post.
