I am currently looking for a peninsula tank, but they are hard to find. With that said, can you drill any glass tank to make it reef ready? If not what brands can you drill?

Pretty sure you can drill in the side of about any tank, not through the bottom though unless it is a special glass. Forgot the name sorry. I have drilled the sides though of many glass tanks without any issues. Check out home_ tool on ebay for super cheap glass drill bits that work awesome. Ships from hong kong so it takes about 10 days to get it but saves you a lot of coin.

Correct, tempered can't be drilled. Most tanks have the bottom drilled and then tempered.

You can drill the back and sides of just about every tank out there. That's why companies like Glassholes.com are in business. Get one of their overflows and drill the back of the tank.

If you don't want to buy the bit/kit from GlassHoles.com, like me, you might consider an LFS:

I was told by the woman at Elite Reef, they can drill tanks. And I know (Sai?) the owner of Exotic Aquatics in Boulder can drill. I forgot which store told me about $25 a hole, you supply the bulkhead/fittings. I didn't inquire what their "guarantee" is if they crack the tank though, you might be S.O.L. I know Sai's probably done it a thousand times, so I'd trust him. Been buying fish from him since I was like 12 yrs old in the 80's, lol.
