Fixing a leak in a biocube?

Is it possible/ easy to fix a leak on a biocube? Some person on craigslist had theirs hang over on a dresser, and it sprang a leak, but it is only $65. Do you think that it would be worth it to pick it up and try to fix it myself? or should I not take the chance?

Depends on the location of the leak. In the front curved part, no. Anywhere else, nothing a can of flex seal won't fix.

Well I guess we will find out then. I got it for $40 so we will have to see. There would be no way to fix the leak if it's in the front? Even with silicone?

Picked it up and I am leak testing it now just to see if it does leak. So far so good, no lights but for $40 I'm not going to complain.

Nice score! Mine would leak when it was too full from the back chamber 1 (right side when looking from the front) I had to seal mine between the plastic and glass (which oceanic does not do)

She said the front leaked a little, but si far nothing has happened. I guess we will find out tomorrow… hoping for the beat

You could re-silicone it. You could try silicone on the back of a piece of plastic (think bicycle tube patch). As long as the seal is water tight, I don't think it should leak.

I was thinking the front glass was cracked, but it isn't. Nice snag for $40.

You could do a DIY led kit, something like the Evo UFO, or find a hood. Shouldn't be too hard to find one.

I've got the stock lights from my biocube 29 that I'd sell you for a killer deal. They have about 3-4 weeks of use on them. Basically the time it took to finish my LED retro-fit.
