Anyone try this? Really trying to kill a ton of these off. Tried pickling lime, aptasia X stuff. Really can't take down all the rock and start from scratch. Thought this might liquify them.

Thanks!

Well that's a less than useless response. Apparently a bad idea? Appreciate the insight...

Sorry...I wanted to see it at work. Didn't mean it wouldn't work. I have never seen it used for that purpose. Try it and let us know.

Have you tried Kalk paste? That worked on aiptasia for me. My yellow polyps are starting to overtake some of my zoas.

Yeah, doesn't work effectively either. Has anyone used a majano wand? Do they work as promised on majanos? Seems like a YCP can't be all that different structurally than a majano. I just don't want to drop $100 on one of these if they are snake oil for their actual purpose. If it doesn't work on YCP that would be ok but if they are just a crappy gimmick then I'll keep the $100.

Most of what I have seen on other sites seem to indicate they do not work much better than the normal methods, but you have to take everything you read on the net with a 50lb bag of salt... as opposed to just a grain.

I have seen too many great products get terrible reviews for the stupidest of reason, many not having much to do with the product itself. Things like poor shipping, not reading directions, etc.

If you try this, then make sure to let us know.

Pretty sure there are some differences between majanos (anemones) and corals, so I wouldn't think a majano wand would work.

Never used a Majano wand, however, so I don't know. Maybe someone in the club has one that you can borrow, so you aren't wasting $100?

Good idea. Ask Chad or Craig. I think they own every product every sold for aquariums between the two of them. :money:

I agree with you Adam. I don't see much difference between a aiptasia and a colonial polyp. I know I have an issue in one tank with nuclear holocaust zoas and I scraped and scraped that rock as clean as I could without actually boiling it and those damn things are all over that rock again. It appears that just like aiptasia these zoos only need a few cells to come back again.
So I wonder if it would just be an exercise in frustration nuking the ycp with the wand just to have them come back. I am not sure the wand kills all cells or if it just appears that way.
Have you tried to contact elite reef about the wand and it's uses?

Adam I got 2w laser if you want to try it. Also I'm pretty sure Craig sold his manjano wand a few months ago.
