Cheato question

I know a lot (or most) of you have cheato in your fuges. I have tried on many occasions to keep cheato with no results. I have always has the fern type macro and the green grape type. They both thrive. But if I ever try to add cheato it quickly breaks apart from its ball and dies. Thoughts? I don't really need it as the two types I keep keep my water perfect, just wondering why cheato fails every time I add it.

Cheato likes a lot of flow from what I've heard. How long are you running your fuge light and what type of light/bulb? I run a fair amount of flow through my fuge and keeps the cheato tumbling so it's not just sitting. If it won't tumble flip it every so often.

I've had the exact same issue with cheato. I am growing a common red macro (similar to dragons breath) and caulpera (grape kind)...but cheato dies off any time I put it in too. I try to keep my flow low since you typically want as much water exposure to the fuge as possible, without it being stagnant of course. Got me?!?
