I have never owned a pair of anything however I picked up a small picasso about a week ago and have had a large one in my tank for a month and a half to 2 months. Anyway they seemed to get along swimingly immediately. This morning I turned on the light and found him hanging out in one of the nem's but I couldn't find her anywhere (making some assumptions here). I have a large concave capstone on top of the rocks which makes a nice little swim through/cave anyway its a little dark under there but I find her kind of upside down swimming under there with her belly against the ceiling of the rock and even when I fed the tank she didn't come out. Is this spawning behavior?

Yeah thats what I thought too. Also the "male" is just only about an 1 3/4 to 2 inches long not sure how big they have to be and was only recently introduced, just weird because she's never done that before and she eats really good. I hope she's ok since she didn't come out to eat. She looks fine swimming in the same spot under there upside down, just seems weird.

If they are spawning, you would have seen the two of them over in there chosen spot cleaning and picking at the spot quite a bit before they actually do the deed. Then after that the male will usually chase her into the hole, she will lay the eggs and then he will come in fertilize and they will both then work on fanning the eggs and keeping the spot clean. If you didnt see any of that behavior then there may be something else wrong.
theres an anemone stalk in there so maybe thats why she seems to be fine no swim bladder issue that I can tell.
