How to remove center bracket from tank

#1
Does anyone know how i can remove the center plastic peice that generally holds the lid of tanks ....I want to hang lights above it.

My idea was...since its a running reef.... to stretch a trash bag across the top and then get my dremmel and just cut through it .......

has anybody done this before?? or know if that peice is essential to the tank to keep it from splitting at the corners or something???

Those are structural and cant be removed while the tank is full and without reinforcing the tank in some other way without compramising the integrity of the tank.

Awesome chad that's a sweet idea. Although nearly impossible with a tank filled up. Not impossible but hard and risky.

Lol I would say install 1 on each side and go for it :p jk guess I missed the part where you wanted to do it while the tank was full.

Or you could keep it simple and do what I did. Put a stronger light over the brace, although my center support is glass.
