Why mud and not sand?

I have seen it elite and aquamart sells it as well.

You might want to ask chris cap or DJKMS if they have it.

I bought it, and used it around 1.5 yrs ago, and can say it didn't help. Let me explain. At one time I had a thriving reef. Mostly Softies, and LPS, with a few SPS (Monitpora cap and digitali, slimmer..). Then I noticed the great decline. Something wasn't right, but couldn't put my finger on it. I spent honestly a year trying to figure it out. Bought some new live rock to re-seed my system, upgraded my skimmer, had DSB both in the DT, and refugium, and two types of micro algae. Then tried miracle mud. Nothing changed after several months. I did a post here, and everyone asked my parameters, after providing, I was asked about NO3 and PO4. I thought, hey, I'm not new - had a reef for 3+ yrs at the time, we don't check NO3 and PO4 anymore. Wrong. When I checked them both, NO3 was between 50 and 100ppm (Salifert) and PO4 was .25... Once I attacked that, boy did things change. Within weeks, all my coral exploded with new growth, and everything was back to 'normal'. Before you go buy it, recommend making sure everything else is in order. I later had to replace my fuge due to a leak, and now don't have a DSB in it, or Miracle Mud

Are you sure that the NO3 and PO4 was from the miracle mud? It may have been higher before you checked it, and could have slowly been lowering it. I had used it in the past and wasnt overly thrilled with it. Nothing will replace good ole water changes. Even if your running a system like Biopellets, Zeovit, or GFO. But you could probably rub some all over your face for health benifits. Its also a pain in the *** when it needs to be changed out or removed. Makes a big mess with alot of potential for fines to get into the water column.

I have some in my Fuge, and I am not sold on it, plus you have to replace it after 2 yrs *I think* I will find the jug and see what it says and let you know
save your $$ and put it toward something proven

Heffe, I'm sure my No3/po4 were high beforehand and not caused by the mud. Just pointing out why I was using it to make my system better, but really didn't help - IMO anything that has the word miracle in it - well... most likely isn't a miracle.
