So what they look like are 1/8th of an inch long, paper thin rectangular with rounded corners and a red/orange color. They don't seem to move but are everywhere. Have been showing up in my tank prior to the heating debacle. Any ideas?

weird, I have a green version of what you just described... So far I have had no problems, but what I have probably isn't what you have.

If they are flat worms, then they aren't what I've got since mine don't move at all.

Looks a little like that, but I cannot see them move. I will check with a magnifying glass, I dip everything............

Flatworms are super slow, but you can see them react (constrict) to light or high flow, they are not anything to get worried about, untill they get out of control, then they are an issue.
