I need some ideas...
I got a pretty nice 150 complete setup off craigslist for a good deal, just had to move it... Got it home, cleaned up, replumbed and started filling the sump tonight to test the skimmer and pumps. Water ran out as fast as it went in...
Bought from a drug house, decent deal but apparently when the previous owners were kicked out they left the heaters running (hopefully they didn't leave the pumps running too... Lucky the place didn't burn down!) They were laying in the bottom of the acrylic sump and evaporated all the water out leaving 2" of salt in the sump and burned through the bottom. I didn't see it because of the design and the bottom is black. So I either need a new 36lx14wx18h sump or a 36x14 piece of 7/32 or 1/4 acrylic or tempered glass to redo the sump base. It is a really nice sump, last one I saw like this was over $500 so I kind of want to fix it.
Probably Will just get the acrylic of glass and glue it to the existing base and fill the holes with glue.
So what kind of glue should I use, where is the best place to get a sheet of aqcrylic (scratched it ok). Would it be ok to use tempered glass? Can I clean it good and silicon or epoxy it together.
Any suggestions will be great appreciated.
Also if you have a 36x14x18 sump, or a spare sheet of acrylic laying around you want to get rid of let me know.
