Ya I have been searching CL I think I'll sell my cichlid tank and then get my Salt Water set up..... I just really have to decide what I want tank wise, I love bow fronts but for less money I could get a rectangle tank thats much bigger ya know..... I really want to find a FULL SETUP though thats what I'm really shooting for!
It may be hard to find full setup but there's a guy selling 2 powerheads dirt cheap there are skinners usually dirt cheap here so sometimes you can make out better buy buying pieces. A lot if people when they upgrade use their powerheads on their new tank as well as skimmers etc

I just recently joined and LOVE it already got some killer frags stuff you won't see in your lfs. Hang on over flows work but are scary at times they have come along way but I've heard of the overflowed and lost 10,20 gallons on the floor stories. But others have never had an issue with them.

The scariest thing if you run a siphon is if the power goes out! I had a non reef ready tank and now have a reef ready tank and there isn't anyway I would go back especially with all the blackouts we have in Colorado.

Bumblebee, don't know what size bowfront you have. I got mine new on sale and just the tank was eleven hundred and the stand and canopy was around 15 to 17 hundred dollars. So you might have paid a fair price. I could be way off though.

Being the frugal reefer I am, I'd sell your fish and drill your current tank. A bean animal overflow is pretty fail safe. You can do it all yourself or pay someone to drill, cut glass, silicone in your coast to coast overflow. I think elite is now drilling for @10/hole, better than the $30+ some others are charging. You can buy a $12 bit from brs and DIY if your feeling confident.

If I keep it though I will want to redo my whole stand and canopy though, I would rather just buy a whole RR set up.
