i have a friend back home that does waterchanges once a year... he does about 90% on it.... he has a 450g fuge on a 29 biocube... calcium reactor and dosing pump.... no gfo or bio pellets...doses fuel, phyto, alk, calc, and mag...
he doesnt ever add food.....
