de bulbs 50% smaller so the pendant can be much smaller and are driven better imo se bulbs are bigger thake a humming magnetic ballast and are cheaper and the crapshoot of the ballast on how the bulb is driven

Opinions vary I guess. SE radium bulbs driven on a non humming aquamedic cube ballasts seem to be quite popular. But I will agree that the DE pendants are much smaller and generally more cosmetically appealing if not mounting in a canopy.

Lots of research over which style of bulb is better, but, as with everything regarding lighting in this hobby, opinions and experiences vary.

I like single end bulb-mugol set up because it doesn't put too much heat. I have a ballast. I just need a reflector

I have a 175 set up, brand new bulb
. I'd have to double check the spectrum, but I think it is 10,000K. LMK
