Was at Wasabi Sushi bar after a bike ride yesterday for lunch, haven't been in there for about a year. They have a professionally maintained Reef that, when I was there last, had what I'd consider not much more than SPS sticks(not small but...) And an great, healthy assortment of LPS and Soft corals.
This tank is now close to world class. The assortment of SPS completely took over the top of the water column and the myriad others I mentioned like RBTA, torches, Monti caps, Shrooms etc. is incredibly beautiful and diverse. It needed a glass cleaning but if anyone is in BelMar shopping area, (Wadsworth and Alameda), for any reason, go check it out.
Would love to know who maintains it. Hats off.
More evidence that leaving stuff alone and stable(don't chase numbers, the corals will tell you if they don't like it) environment is key to long term success. Wish I could be there when he/she trims those things, one small stick from each would change my world.
