Finally my tank build is done. Here's what I have....

I had a diy 75g AIO that I picked up from CL last December. The back 6" is sectioned off with a waterfall on the left half, and the rear right half sectioned off into 2 sections. Waterflow falls over the back left, under a divider to the return pump section. My return pump, which is way overpowered for my configuration, is a Rio 26HF. Maybe I'm overcompensating lol. Return is T'd off with an inline ball valve (not ideal i know) so it goes to the third section of the 75, which then overflows into the right side of the 75. Here's a pic that kinda shows the sump section. Space is really tight, and my choice of return pump was limited by the 6" width of the chamber. I have to hold my tongue just right to fit the Rio in there!

The left half of the 75 is fuge, complete with chaeto, halimedia, and a dsb. Light over the fuge is a 4 bulb T5 with 2 6500k, 1 Blue+(because I hate the yellow/green look of all 6500s), and a 10k. I am experimenting with lighting schedules, mainly because I hate the fuge light being on at the same time as the LED on the opposite end. It looks wierd.

In the 75 I have:
Fish
1 Yellow tang (headed to the 90)
1 Matted filefish (love this guy!)
4 Pajama Cardinals
1 Blue green Chromis
1 Yellow striped Maroon Clown (got her yesterday and she is gorgeous!)
Inverts
Tiger pistol shrimp
Fighting Conch
3 humongous Nassarius from Elite Reef
Assorted hermits and snails
Corals
Fire n ice zoas
Eagle eye zoas
Ugly green plays that grow like weeds
Pink n Gold zoas
CAR zoas
Orange digitata
Toadstool
Green hairy mushroom
Green ricordea
Multicolored open brain
Green mushrooms
Branching hammer (clown hosts this)
Toxic frogspawn
Green trumpets
Green maze brain
Green edged plate
Blastomussa

I am probably going to do fuge light from 1900 hours to 0700 hours.

I just got a JBJ ato controller last week, and have an aqualifter hooked to it that is working well after some initial operator error and experimentation (and bad words). I have an Apex controller that I won from the ReefEd raffle (Thanks, MASC!) Controlling lights on both tanks, return pump, heater, and powerheads. I really should get another EB8, but until then I have the Fire Marshal's and every electrician's worst nightmare-multi outlets plugged into extension cords a few inches from 140 gallons of saltwater! Ghettofabulous!

The top tank is another CL steal. It is a 90rr that my wife and good friend Tony got me for my birthday. Here's Tony:
and here's my wife with some fugly guy

Anyways, the 90 drains straight down into the left sump chamber. The return from the middle sump chamber has a ball valve (I know, I know....) to throttle it down a bit.
Drain from the 90 is a diy Durso which I am very happy with. Lights over the 90 are Chinese led's. Right side is 165w, left side is 120w.....because that's what I had available. Light over the right side of the 75 is another 120w led. I have blues set on from 0400-2100 hours, and whites on 0700-1900 hours.
Flow in the 90 is from two MJ1200 powerheads in addition to the return line. Flow in 75 is from a hydor 600 and an aqueon something.
Here's the 90:

I am wanting to get a few more fish and move stuff around, but I have to catch the little buggers first.
Fish in the 90 are:
Snowflake clown
Her biatch the regular perc
1 Mandarin Dragonette

Coral

I will edit this later

My stand was custom made by a guy named Adam in Reunion. It is steel tubing and angled steel for the canopy, which slides on the front of the 90. Adam made the whole thing to fit within an inch of my existing vertical space!

Awesome stand and dual display idea. What pump did you end up getting for your ATO? I did notice the steel hose clamps in the 1st pic. I'd change those out and get plastic ones. (Ace carries them) the steel ones will give you problems in the future.

I use the aqualifter that feeds from a 15 gallon Rubbermaid with kalk. I had issues with it leaking internally (I thought), but I used different tubing and it works fine now. I'll do the plastic clamps, thanks for the heads up. I thought the steel ones were ok?
I went with the steel stand because the last 2 wooden stands I have had got very wet and I flipped out both times (ato failed on once and pump pointed wrong causing waves washing over the side the second time). My lovely wife indulges my passion, but 70 gallons on the floor from a failed wooden stand would probably seal my fate.

I know the feeling! I'm probably going to do steel next time as well. I really like the dual tanks, definitely makes the office look great! This is definitely an upgrade from your old 55 w t5 at different lengths. Looks good sir!

I would love to try halides but the heat and wattage are three strikes as far as the wife is concerned.

Lmao! I'm good on #'s 1 and 3, but she knows the difference between halides and leds!
I may sneak one in on a trial run after vacation. I aquired some 250s a year ago that have been sitting under my desk collecting dust!

Hahah! You forgot rule #4 always pair an aquarium purchase with something sparkly. When they ask how much you spent on the aquarium purchase you start off with how much you spent on her first.

I added a Kole Tang to the 90 today. Love that guy! I would like to get my Pajama Cardinals into the 90 but i cant get near them. Have to explore a trap option maybe.
We went on vacation for a week and I had set my fuge lights on an opposite schedule from my display lights. This allowed lots of bryopsis to grow in the dt's, so I have put the fuge on 24 hours and the crappy algae is starting to die off as the chaeto takes off again. I think I will get another Filefish for the 90. I spotted a Majano in there today.
I haven't tried a halide yet....

Wife and kid took some time the other night and finished catching fish to transfer to the 90 while i was sleeping. It was a very nice surprise when I woke up to my fish having teleported themselves to the dt!
Filefish suddenly developed a taste for frogspawn. The color pattern is the same as the majanos he wiped out, and he took care of the majanos, aptasia, and started on the frogspawn, so I moved the big frogspawn frag to the 75 with the toxic frogspawn and hammer frags. He never touched the toxic frogspawn frag while in the 75. I left a small frogspawn frag in the 90 with him. We'll see if he finishes it off.
Looking for a single Yellow Striped Maroon clown if anyone has one. Mine is lonely in my fuge with only a chromis for a friend. I might get an anemone for them too. I'm not sure if I want to try that again or not. Do rock nems host?
