So is he nipping or just rubbing against the mantle? If he is just rubbing, then the clam might adapt to it. I've seen clams host a pair of clowns before. Probably not worth the risk though...

Looks like he's rubbing but the clam was closed up all day. I won't be able to move the clam until the afternoon so I'll keep watching. Be nice if they could coexist.

Clam is safe and sound in the 180 and wide open. No permanent damage!

Oh well now mine is protecting my patch reef and I have a big ole clam in the library.
