Fragging softies?????

Ok i have a few questions as to how to frag softies, I have a HUGE Kenya trees that i need to cut down however both times i have tried to frag them i try to glue it and it falls off and blows away never to be seen again. is there a particular type of glue that works on soffties? i have tried two types of quick set addhesive with no avail, one was "thick". I have also tried to frag my bright green mushroom but the same thing happens. Obviously someone has to know and could clue me in on it. Thanks in advance for the help, i will be DBTCing all of them if i can figure it out.

Rubber band or string and tie it the rock or plug until it attaches to it.

i tried this method once and it split in half . was it to tight? i also tried letting them just be free in a closed container in the tank for a few days hoping they would find something to attach to but they flipped over and died by the time i took the fish net off the top to find them they were gone.

How big are the branches you are trying to frag? Also are there multiple branches attached together? I have never tried Kenya trees but after multiple ways if attempting to frag a green finger leathers i have finally found a way. I either find a smaller rock with a hole or cavity in it, or I drill a hole into it. Then put a multiple branched trunk into the hole. Then wrap a rubberband loosely around the rock and a v-crotch between 2 branches. This will hold the frag from blowing away but not restrict movement and cause it to rip and or tear away. Then place on very very low flow part of tank and leave for a few weeks. This is key, leave the frags for a 2 weeks minimum i would say. ( just as the tubberware version - leave for same amount of time. I frag mushrooms and yumas this way) Then it should attach itself and be good to go and the rubberband can be removed.

ahhh... maybe i was trying to rush the process, i didnt think it would take that long to attach. good to know. Where do you get bags of rubber bands?

You can also glue a piece of a toothpick at an angle on the plug then slide the softy onto the toothpick wait for it to bond them remove the toothpick.

tooth pick is a killer idea, never thought of that. Wouldent a kenya tree just grow around the tooth pick?

I have done the toothpick idea with xenia. Stick toothpick through the stalk and rubberband toothpick to rock. Works great.

X2...I never even have to remove the toothpick usually. The softy many times will expel the toothpick from its body after attaching to whatever rock rubble it attaches to. Works awesome.

I have a piece of tupperware with rock rubble sitting in my frag tank that I put all my xenia, kenyatree, mushroom frags in and just let them sit there till they attach themselves to a rock.

Great idea as well...if you aren't in a hurry to put on frags for a reason!
