How to calibrate temp?

Ok, dumb q, is there an easy way to calibrate my control unit temp probes? Without buying another temp device?

I had an issue with my APEX, one probe started reading off the charts. So I reset, and I had two probes in the tank each reading different, within 1 degree of one another.

Trying to calibrate and set them both.

I basically need a control/known temp, any way to generate one? Ice water, etc....

Just read the Apex won't read at freezing or boiling. So that's out...

There is a calibrate temp probe built into the apex. I have an old floating mercury thermometer that i use as the base temp and then use that to calibrate the apex probes.

Walmart has them or I have a few of them laying around, little bit of a drive though.

I think I'm ok. I just got in two new Jagers, so I'll set off them for now. I have a new digital sensor on order, to triple check.
