First used it in a 90g but had it blasting against a rock to divert the flow, then used it in my 125g to cure some rock. Without much rock work it will slowly move all your sand to one end of the tank. But with some rock placed around in the tank it's not bad....well, depending on size of tank, lol.

I think it would work great for that if you are going for the whirlpool look. Although it might only end up being capable of holding 15 gallons...lol :D
