BRS is having a huge sale on the Skimz return pumps. 80% off they typically run $300-400 and I just picked one up for $90. Even if it's just a back up that's a steal.
Not very good reviews on that pump. Stopped me from pulling the trigger. Not to mention I dont trust the reliability of DC pumps yet, as most of them haven't been on the market very long.

Where were you able to find reviews? Unfortunately, I couldn't find any. I was actually about to pull the other return pump I have on there and see if this one is quieter. I will let you know how things go with it.
So far so good. New pump has been on the tank a couple of weeks. I went with one that was slightly larger than the flow rate of the tank so I threw on a gate valve I had laying around and it is super quiet. No noise compared to the quiet one that I had on there before.
